Homophone clues

The answer sounds like another word. The clue gives you a synonym of the sound-alike, then an indicator tells you to listen rather than read.

How to spot one

• Look for 'we hear', 'reportedly', 'it's said', 'on the radio' or 'broadcast'.
• Solve the synonym first, then say it out loud.
• Check which side the definition is on: the indicator usually sits next to the sound-alike.
