Anagram clues
Some letters in the clue are shuffled to make the answer. A nearby word tells you to mix them up, and the letters you need are written out in full in the clue.
How to spot one
- Look for a word suggesting change, damage, movement or confusion.
- Count the letters in the words next to it: they will match the answer length exactly.
- The definition is at the other end of the clue from the letters being shuffled.
- Unusual words that don't fit the surface meaning are often anagram fodder.
